Mission
Statement:
To
provide a fun-filled family day celebrating Canadian heritage through
entertainment, arts, culture and information on July 1st in Orillia.
Canada
Day has been celebrated in
Orillia
for so many years no one has been able to determine
its origins.
The City of Orillia
joins the Canada Day celebration as the City was
also incorporated in 1867.
In
2003, Orillia Canada Day Inc. became a registered not-for-profit corporation and
a registered charitable organization. Presently, our structure has a Core
Committee comprised of a Chairperson and Chairman Finance along with
coordinators of various aspects of Canada Day -- Ceremonies, Children’s
Village,
Citizenship Court
, Entertainment, Technicians & Scheduling,
Fundraising, Honourary Auditor, Membership, Operations, Parade, Recycling,
Security, Volunteers and Volunteer Support and Web Site.
These
volunteers spend tireless hours preparing for the Celebration---they are very
much appreciated. They are joined
with about 300 more volunteers on the day to make
Orillia
’s
Canada Day celebration
