THE PARADE: PARADE CANCELLED FOR 2023!!!
Parade is cancelled for 2023 due to unforeseen expenses related to having a parade. This may be because of the different parade route. Or this may be something that we have to look at next year to see if it is feasible to continue to have a parade.
Marshalling takes place on Albert and Mississauga Street at 11 AM. The Parade starts promptly at 12 PM and goes down Mississauga Street and along Centennial Drive and disperses at the north park entrance (Jarvis Street). (This is our usual route and meet up place if there wasn’t waterfront construction).
This parade celebrates Canada’s Birthday and Heritage. We encourage red and white, music, bands, flats, dignitaries, walking groups and animals (insurance certificate required).
We also encourage local award winners i.e. Citizen of the Year, Fair Ambassador, Woman of the Year, etc. to submit a parade application. Please go to Forms Tab for application and information.
Wheely Great Parade: Decorate your wheels to take part in the Wheely Great Parade. Bicycles, tricycles, wagons, skateboards, wheelchairs and scooters can take part in this annual event. The parade begins at 10:00am on July 1st. Participants of all ages can register between 10:30am at the Orillia Recreation Centre. Just look for our info tent in front of the Rec Centre. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Immediately after the parade, the Children’s Village will be officially declared open. Children’s Village activities will provide something for every child, from demonstrations, inflatables, crafts and face painting.

ENVIRONMENTAL DISPLAYS: All of us treasure the natural beauty, resources and expansiveness of our country. We’ve become more aware of how precious they are, and of the need to use them wisely. There will be several groups participating at Orillia Canada Day this year. They will inform and entertain all ages.
MIDWAY: Due to the construction down at the waterfront we are unable to have a Midway this year. It will be back in 2024.
Have fun with the whole family and all ages at the Midway which will have a variety of children’s and all ages rides. Plus games and carnival food. This year the Midway is running June 29 to July 2.

This year thanks to the generous donation from Paul Sadlon Cadillac we will have live entertainment coordinated by Loft Vegas Productions.
If you are interested in being apart of the entertainment please email info@loftvegas.com your interest, what type of act you are, what type of band you are, etc. There are a limited amount of slots, which means we may not be able to accommodate every one who expresses interest.
Look for updates in June for who is will be joining us and the times they will be playing. We are super excited to have live entertainment as a part of our Orillia Canada Day celebrations.
